Solid Headwear
A dark, product-led site for Solid Headwear, an Australian maker of low-volume headwear made to spec. Design, build and deploy, replacing a Wix site.
The Challenge
Solid Headwear, trading as Solid 7, design and engineer caps from scratch rather than off a template. Panels, eyelets, stitching and branding are specified per build, and decoration runs from embroidery and screen printing to sublimation and high-frequency printing. All of that had to come across on a site replacing their Wix build.
The Solution
We designed, built and deployed the site. The visual direction is dark studio photography, with the product framed close on material and construction detail and the type kept minimal so the caps carry the page. Four pages - home, about, sustainability and contact - plus a gallery of seven builds on the home page. It is a static build served from nginx, with an AVIF hero on srcset and a preload, and lazy loading below the fold.
Key Results
Open Graph and Twitter cards, JSON-LD, a canonical, a sitemap and a robots file were all in from day one, so the site could be crawled and shared the hour it went live. The hero preloads, so the first thing anyone sees is the product.
