Questions and answers

Do you work with businesses outside Suffolk?

Yes. We are based in Great Finborough near Stowmarket and see clients across Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex in person. Most software and web work is delivered remotely for clients anywhere in the UK.

What services does Signal Red Studio offer?

Custom software and app development, brand and web design, managed IT support, SEO and growth marketing, and AI adoption and automation. We design, build and run all of it ourselves.

Do you outsource any of the work?

No. Everything is designed, built and supported in the UK. No offshore subcontracting.

Can you take over a website someone else built?

Usually yes. We audit what is there first and tell you honestly whether it is worth fixing or worth rebuilding.

Do you do ongoing IT support, or just projects?

Both. Managed IT support is a monthly arrangement covering hardware, email, cloud, backups and updates.

What size businesses do you work with?

Mostly UK small businesses, from sole traders up to teams of around fifty.

What are your opening hours?

Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm. You can email info@signalredstudio.com at any time and we will reply the next working day.

How do I get a quote?

Call 01449 541255 or email info@signalredstudio.com with a short description of what you need. We will tell you whether we are the right fit before quoting.

How much does a small business website cost?

It depends on the size of the site and how much of it is built from scratch. A well-built brochure site sits a long way below a bespoke marketing site with custom design and integrations. What moves the figure is page count, whether the design is bespoke or template-based, and any custom features. Tell us what you need and we will quote against your actual goals, and we can work to a fixed budget.

How long does it take to build a website?

A typical brochure website takes 3-6 weeks from kick-off to launch; a larger custom site with bespoke design and integrations usually takes 6-12 weeks. Timelines depend mostly on how quickly content and feedback come back, so we agree a clear schedule up front and keep you updated at every stage.

Do you offer local SEO in Suffolk?

Yes. We are based in Great Finborough, Suffolk and provide local SEO for businesses across Suffolk and East Anglia - Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich, Stowmarket and beyond. That includes Google Business Profile optimisation, local citations, and location-focused content so you show up when nearby customers search.

Do you provide ongoing website maintenance and support?

Yes. We offer ongoing maintenance and managed support retainers covering updates, patching, backups, hosting and small changes. You can also take a website and manage it yourself - we hand over full access and ownership either way, with no lock-in.

Can you help my business show up on Google?

Yes. We improve Google visibility through technical SEO, faster page speeds, well-structured content, and local SEO signals like your Google Business Profile. We are transparent about what we do and tie the work to measurable results rather than vague promises - and we never use spammy link-farm tactics.

Do you build custom software, or just websites?

Both. Alongside websites we build bespoke software - web applications, internal tools, customer portals and APIs - for UK SMEs that have outgrown off-the-shelf products. If a project needs real engineering rather than a template, that is the work we prefer.

Do we own the website and code when the project is finished?

Yes. You get full ownership and intellectual-property transfer on final payment - source code, design files and brand assets all end up in your accounts. There is no vendor lock-in and no ongoing licence fee just to keep using what you paid us to build.

What does AI adoption and automation actually involve?

We map how your business actually works, time the repetitive jobs, and show you which of them a machine can take on. You get the opportunities ranked by the hours they would give back, and an honest list of the ones that are not worth doing. If a pilot makes sense we build it, prove it works, then hand it over with the documentation.

Will you tell us if AI is the wrong answer for our business?

Yes, and it happens. Some repetitive jobs are cheap in hours and expensive to automate reliably, and some need a judgement call a machine should not be making. We would rather tell you that at the audit stage than sell you a pilot that quietly costs more than it saves.

What is SignalRed CRM?

It is our own sales and customer-management platform, built for small service businesses and agencies. Visual pipeline, a no-code automation engine, email sequences, lead scoring, and an isolated workspace per client. We run our own business on it, which is how the awkward parts get found.

How do we find out whether SignalRed CRM would suit us?

Tell us how your sales process runs at the moment. Call 01449 541255 or email info@signalredstudio.com and we will say honestly whether it fits or whether you are better off with something else.

How does a project run from start to finish?

Four stages. We work out what the business actually does, agree scope, price and dates in writing, build in stages so you see something early rather than a reveal at the end, then hand over logins, source and documentation with a walk through it. The names change by discipline; the shape does not.

How do you price the work?

Build work is quoted as a fixed price once the brief is locked, so the number you approve is the number you pay, and change requests are itemised and approved before they land. Small fixes, audits and one-off consulting are billed hourly in 15 minute blocks. Support and growth run monthly with no annual lock-in. Ask and we will quote against your brief rather than a package list.

Do you still do managed IT support?

Yes. It runs exactly as it did for the clients who have it - monitoring, patching, backups and the helpdesk, on the same monthly terms with no annual lock-in. It is no longer one of the four services we lead with, and we still take it on where it sits alongside other work we are doing for you.

Do you do brand and design as well as the build?

Yes. Brand identity, visual systems and conversion-led web design, strategy first and no template kits. Most projects start in one service and touch two, which is easier when the same studio does both.

Which towns do you cover in person?

We are at Great Finborough, a couple of miles west of Stowmarket, and we have pages for Stowmarket, Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich and Needham Market. We see clients across Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex in person, and deliver everywhere else in the UK remotely.

Who will we actually be dealing with?

The person doing the work. We are a studio of three and there is no account manager relaying your brief to somebody you have never met. That has obvious limits and one real advantage: whoever answers the phone knows your project by name.

Still have a question?

Tell us about your project and we'll get back to you within 24 hours - no obligation.
